Finally today I started to deal with my debts. I owe in excess of £50K. I am writing to my creditors but has anyone got a suggestion as to a more polite to say 'I've been robbing peter to pay paul and got myself in deep sh**'
Also I want to start a DMP, any opinion on who's best CCCS or National Debt helpline?
Scared but facing up to it!

Hi There

I can't give you any advice I'm afraid, however I just wanted to come in your Thread and wish you all the luck in the world - I hope it all works out for you!!0 -
My lights came on last week and am slowly strting to accept that I need to do something. I cant help with advice but there are plenty of knowledgable people on here who will. Hang on in there they will be with you soon. Its a tough feeling but it starts to feel better when you know you are no longer burying your head in the sand!
Good luck!0 -

I would speak to a debt charity before sending any letters. They will recommend on the best course of action. You can complete a CCCS debt remedy on-line and then they post you all the relevant gumph. That includes letters to your creditors (if a DMP is what they recommend). I am with them and I think they're great.
Good luck

Hi & Welcome
Either CCCS, National Debtline, Payplan or CAB all offer free dmp's. I'm with CCCS and happy with them. Try their debt remedy on-line tool (am rubbish at computers and links and things otherwise I'd post the link) and see what that comes up with?
Please don't panic and keep posting on here, many of us have been where you are now so do understand.
