Mickey, i am sure Cassey also lives very close to both of us, although will let her tell us where she lives!!

I go to Southampton around once a week, most of my friends live there, although i avoid the town centre, much too crazy for my liking, plus its a driver's nightmare!!

I don't do Basingstoke as it has too many roundabouts!!

I live at Chandlers Ford. The four of us should try and meet up after Christmas.

Great idea for a meet Cassey!

Glad the amazon voucher is working for people, always nice to share these things!

I got my 100tips book from eon for complaining, have read through it and have found twenty five things that i wasn't already doing, so rather chuffed with that. Also my pin number came for one of my online accounts, here's hoping there is a load of money in there!!

Also chuffed, as went to print out sign up forms for a massage course i want to do in Jan and its on special offer with £25 off, so really pleased as i was off to do it regardless!

  • Poop. Day not as cheap as I'd hoped. Went out to the car and it had a flat - same one which had the puncture repair a fortnight ago. Ended up needing a new tyre for £55. Still, drank as much coffee while I was waiting in the tyre shop to try and lessen the blow.

Pay was in my account early so took out £100 - £55 of which went on the tyre, £20 on petrol, £15 on a driver for my Papa's Xmas, another £15 on the Rocky 6-DVD boxed set from HMV (which I once considered paying £50 for so at £15 I consider it a job well done!).

Only 2 more pressies to get now and it's all done.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • The self discip0line has been a bit wayward today. I rationalise it by telling myself that I'm "only" practising for the 4 grand a year challenge in 2009. I need a kick up the exclamation marks.
On the positive side though, I did some work in conditions that most people would bottle out of. Not a good earning day but at least I earnt something on a day that most would shy away from.
I think I've put my laundry on 30 degrees but I'm not sure LOL. Can anyone tell me if the 40 degree UNDERLINED marker is actually 30 degrees or does it mean a shorter 40 degree wash? (I have the "economy" button pressed in). I've had this machine for years but still don't know the details and the book went missing when I rented the place out a few years ago.
I don't seem to feel the cold too easily - probably because I've got too much natural padding (aka fat). Therefore, as I live in a well insulated mid floor flat, I have not had the heating on this Winter. I did put the gas fire on the other day for a while but that was only because some of my tools froze overnight in the back of the van. I had to bring them in to thaw them out.
Apart from some fresh fruit and veg which I need to replenish and the DDs that will leave the account anyway, I'm going to "punish" myself with a no spending week (Sunday to Thursday).
I just want to focus on that day (possibly 5 years from now) when I will make that last unsecured debt payment. Boy, will that be a day to celebrate. After that, I will sling money at my mortgage like it's going out of fashion.
  • Good luck with your debt clearing Paul but try not to be too hard on yourself whilst you are doing it:D you will end up going off the rails quicker if you are too strict.
The £4000 training seems to be going well though;)
    Reduce,re-use, recycle.

In spite of not being perfect with it, I have made massive improvements in the past few weeks Sophie and I take on board what you say about not being too strict.
Since I posted, I have made a £10 BACS payment to my Egg card so that will be minimum payment + £10 this month.
I would happily slice my credit cards into tiny pieces but I do need to keep some credit available in case of any big repair bills for my van. It would be stupid to deny myself any credit then find that I am unable to keep my only means of income on the road. If I had the sort of job I could get to by foot or bus, I would happily ditch the van too. I only really do a longer journey for the occasional holiday or an occasional day out. Much of it could be done without private transport.
