None of the usual sites have reviews of this new all inclusive hotel, only of its B+B sister Baron Resort.

Looks nice.. anyone been ?? . Wondered if anyone knows if food is solely buffet, or if their is a choice ( or upgrade to other eateries in sister hotel)

Otherwise looking at Three corners in Naama Bay

any thoughts

Damn, just posted and it deleted the whole lot! So this is a shorter version.

Not sure about the Baron Palms but I went to Three Corners Kiroseiz last September (although everywhere in Sharm is pretty luxurious). Food was buffet but a bit bland. However eating out in Sharm is so cheap you'll wonder why you bothered with all inclusive! Three Corners is a fantastic place - couldn't believe how good it was considering the teeny price we paid! It's a little out of town but taxis are cheap (hold tightly and close your eyes for the trip) at about 20 Egyptian pounds (any more and they're ripping you off). The hotel also has a wonderful a la carte restaurant over the pool with fantastic food and although you have to pay here, I paid GBP£12 for a 3-course meal for two, and you can put it on your hotel bill. That restaurant is the hotel's best kept secret-in-plain-view.

Although it's not exactly a moneysaver thing, tipping is essential. Places like Sharm are built specifically for the tourist as Egypt is a very poor country. The locals earn very little and depend on the tips of tourists to feed their families back at home (and that's why they're so friendly!) You only need to tip to the equivelant of about 10-20p, and don't forget leaving something on the table for the maid when you leave the hotel (making sure the porter has already taken your suitcases - otherwise they'll take it for themselves when you've already given them a tip).

Drinking out is Sharm is expensive. Smoking the pipes is a matter of pennies and a great way to unwind and watch the world go by. And no, there's nothing "funny" about them. If you ask for an alcoholic drink in these cafes you'll be looked at very strangely....although some may "sneak" you some alcohol.

Plenty of trips available, which you'll find out when you get there. Make sure you book with your travel operator, even though they are more expensive. It will be much safer all round, and that IS worth paying a little extra for.

Shopping is good, expect to haggle. he locas will try to pester you to visit their shop/bar/restaurant, you'll have to fight your way thru and have some ready made excuses to hand. Beware, I was caught in shops I didn't actually want to be in for a very long time. It's very hard not to be rude when they are so nice about everything! It's a dangerous way to spend money you don't want to spend! Another tip is that these guys will overcompliment girls, to the point of being a little overly friendly. If you keep saying "my wife" etc, then they'll have a bit more respect and back off. That's more of a tip for unmarried couples, but we found that it does help.

All round, I loved Egypt and would definetly go back again. It's not the cheapest of places to visit but if you haggle right when it matters, then spending is very affordable. Me and my fiance spent approx £300 between us for one week, not including the all inclusive deal we got. £180 of this was spent on trips, so you can see how much we actually spent....

    Good luck!

many thanks for that, decided to risk the newer hotel Baron Palms in Nabq bay - a bit more expensive, but hopefully more things to do / better AI service ( the things that reviewers questioned at 3 corners, albeit it got a VG comments generally)
