Japanese paper flowers that unfurled in water

Does anyone remember having these as a child? My sister and I were kids in the 70s, and were enchanted by them.
The sachet was full of tightly rolled (and kind of dehydrated) colourful bits of paper, which you then dropped into a bowl of water. They then slowly unfurled to make a beautiful floating garden. I have already posted on Yahoo Answers with no luck. I'm making a nostalgia hamper for my sister for Christmas, and would love to be able to get hold of some if I can. They seemed so magical to us, and I'm sure she would be really moved to receive them.
Apologies if I have posted this here before!:o

I thought I might have - sorry! I posted in various places, and now in the lead up to Christmas, I've become more desperate to find them, a la Cabbage Patch Doll/Buzz Lightyear/Tracy Island syndrome (for me anyway)!! It's getting out of all proportion - a "Christmas will be ruined without them" situation lol!:rotfl:0 -

Oh I remember now! Thanks for that Rusty! I have a very bad short term memory, part of my illness, can be very embarassing when I don't remember someone's name after the 5th time of meeting. Funny thing is, my memory for the past is incredibly detailed and vivid - to the extreme really!
Back on topic, I didn't manage to find any, but will have a look at the Hawkins single ones again.0 -
I have just come across your post, I was looking for exactly the same thing for my sister, for xmas! I think we used to get them from a catalogue called Stocking Fillers, in the 1970s/80s. It did go on-line, and still exists, but I have just looked, and no Japanese water flowers
(
I have kept a wallet that they came in, from when I was a child. I photocopied it and cut it up for a collage recently. I can't find the original wallet at the moment, but I've taken a photo of the piece I cut out (with Japanese ladies on it) and have taken a photo of it. Can email to you if you want, for a bit of nostalgia! (I can't see any where to attach photos here, but this is my first time in this site.0 -
