i would says is best to treat her. just cos shes not going out doesnt means she wont get them (althought her risk is lower).
how old is ur pup? if being taken out for walks/access to garden (is it open to other cats, hegdehogs etc)/access to other pets when out, again increases risk.
or some may travel on you.
im all for prevention being better that cure
if ur pet does get fleas, then is also at increased risk from tapesworms0 -

At present my kitten (sorry, she's a cat now, passed the 16 week mark :rotfl: ) is an indoor cat as she's not booked into to be spayed until next month. Anyway, I have Frontline for her, but I was planning not to treat her with it until she's ready to go out? There are absolutely no sign of any types of flea in the house or on the animals and downstairs is all hard flooring. Should I have treated her already (she's currently wearing a flea collar, I know they're rubbish but it's a start) or am I right to wait until she's ready to go out? I'll treat her before her vet visit which is in four weeks.
In normal circumstances I'd personally wait until Spring now to do another treatment but as she's booked in at the vets next month I'd treat her a week before she goes in. This will deal with any stray fleas she may pick up whilst at the vets
I wouldn't bother with a flea collar and certainly don't use one at the same time as using Frontline. As poster above mentions, you can certainly bring fleas into the home yourself on clothing/footwear but at this time of year you don't really need to worry about that and your house/animals are adequately protected anyway.
No need to worry about hedgehog fleas either, they are a different species“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
I'm not overly concerned given the time of year. I've only put a flea collar onto her to get her used to wearing a collar - I'll swap it for a 'normal' one when I Frontline her, which I'm going to do next month before she goes to the vets. I've had no fleas on me as I've not been bitten. They always make a beeline for me, even when there's a cat in the house!!

Hi to get the fleas off your kitten use a flea comb or a knit comb lol and gently comb her every day to remove the fleas. I put the fleas in an old glass that contains washing up liquid and warm water, they then can't jump back out
Hoovering everyday will also cut down on the fleas (not saying that you don't but you may be like me who hoovers every two days lol). I also spray my carpets with Johnson's veterinary house flea spray extra guard as it also kills floor walking insects. Just open your windows and shut your cats in another room for an hour for safety.
Good luck with getting rid of them0
