Somerfield 1/2 price cameras and portable dvd players (merged)

I popped into my local Somerfield earlier for my paper and overheard the Manageress telling another member of staff that as from tomorrow they wil be reducing the above items .

I don't know how much the dvd player will be but the camera is a 6.2 megapixel and is being reduced to £39.99

I was in such a hurry I didnt look to see what makes the items were.

I've just rang my local one, they said they've got some in for £79.99, will it be these? Even if it's not, they might go in the sale aswell.

I wanted the Samsung one from Argos because I thought it was a good price but I couldn't afford it in the end, so this is just what I need!

Yes I think that is the one It was originally £99.99 then it had £20 off making it £79.99 and tomorrow it will be £39.99 a nice little bargain

Having bought several digital cameras over the years I have found it is not the number of pixels that matter but the lens quality. I would tend to buy a camera from a camera manufacturer e.g. Fuji or Cannon, who you know use quality lenses. Beware of those made by electronics companies, as I have found the picture is not usually as sharp, as they tend to use unknown makes of lenses. However that said, I noticed Sony cameras now have a Carl Zeiss lens and they start at around £100.

DO NOT buy this camera, it is awful. whites turn out pink and pics inside turn out blue/black. I took mine back to Somerfield. Price wise buy a 3-4mp but a better make with good optical.

OMG this has turned into a debate about cameras.I didnt realise it wouldnt be any good .As I said I had just popped in quickly.............oops.
