I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but i ordered something from them the other day, after a wait almost 20 mins for it ,the box was a bit tatty but no big deal.
I got home to find it had obviously been used before and been returned ,had marks on it , drink spills and there was a important part missing.
This happened to me once before and i was assured it wouldnt happen again and it has , it will be the last time i buy products from Argos.
My friend told me its happened to him previously and i was also informed Argos has been warned about this before by Trading standards so why are they still doing it and seem to be getting way with it?

About 50% of the things I have received from Argos have been used/returned/opened. I now open everything in the store to see what state it is in before I leave. Obviously I cannot test stuff, but at least you can guage how bad it is.
Every time I have complained I have been told that they are not returns but are opened customer views. I think this is untrue.

I rarely buy stuff from Argos for this reason. You don't always have time to inspect the item before you leave...but then you shouldn't have to.This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Argos tried this on me when I went to buy my Senseo - Box was really tatty and opened so I asked them to get me new unsealed one. Assistant then tutted and vanished for 20 minutes before reappearing with a new one that was still taped up.
Really pees me off but sometimes you have to endure it for the lower prices.Noli nothis permittere te terere

I ordered a TV in the sale a couple of years ago and had it delivered. When it arrived it had been used and had finger marks all over it. Rang customer services and after a bit of negotiation managed to get them to send me a new version of the latest model TV which was more expensive. They also failed to collect the original TV so I ended up with 2 for the price of 1.0

Bought a £150 portable dvd which when opened, had scratched all over the front.
Took it back and they didn`t have any in stock but was told they`d pay my petrol to go and pick one up from a store 40 miles away who did have one.

Well what do you think they do with unwanted goods returned by customers !, Always have a check before you leave the store i learnt my lesson bought a printer got it home and it had already been used with inks installed it was a 30 mile round trip to return it , i did get £20 compensation from the manager.0

Bought a shower 2 years ago - box was in very good condition but inside there was a used shower - could not believe it. I was so embarrassed taking it back and explaining that this is what i had been given. It was a genuine case and they did refund. The assistant did seem to believe me because she said loads of items get returned and staff do not check the contents but said this was 'being stamped on' - obviously customer training no better 2 years on.0

Bought a fan heater from Argos which had obviously been opened and used...Argos what they wanted however since it wasn't worth the time or effort to return it. Shoddy.0
