I am trying to process a credit card transaction at work but the customer has given us 18 digits i thought Amex was the only company to have more than 16.
Can anyone let me know how many digits it has on a First Direct credit card please?
Btw i only happen to know its First Direct because the customer is elderley and when i asked what card it was meaning Visa etc he said First Direct

I'd have sworn all credit cards were 16 digits but I've just looked at my FD debit card (Maestro) and it is indeed 18 digits.
Hope this helps.
The number seems to be formed 6759SS SSSSNNNNNNNN
the S being the digits of the sort code and the N being the account number."A nation of plenty so concerned with gain" - Isley Brothers - Harvest for the World0 -
Many thanks for that Grade A thought it was declining cause i'd put too many digits in replayed the call and he definately says 18 numbers. Will have to pass it onto my manager.0
