    once again british gas have failed to turn up to put a new key meter in..thats 4 times now and we cant even top up the old meter.

    who do i speak to about compensation over this please?

    your entitled to £20 for each missing appointment. they have guarranteed standards on this. if you want to really annoy them insist that they find out from the metering company why they didnt show up on each occasion. that will cause them some work!:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Plus if they haven't paid you the compensation within 7 days you are entitled to compensation for them not paying the compensation. This applies to all suppliers as it is set by OFGEM.

  • Yep, thats £80 your way now, [have you still got all the paperwork which states the dates they should have shown up] gosh I never knew you could claim compensation on top of compensation! will have to remember that.

    And how you doing for electric now? this is a bit of a worry really, I was also told by BG, that if there is anyone disabled in the house, you could have a machine brought into your home by BG so you can top your meter up via the telephone at home, bit like they do in the shops.

    And also if you wish they can raise the emergency credit limit if needed as well. but again, only if anyone in your household has a disability.

    customer services via phone said these two bits of information, did not follow it through as we were talking to scottish power at the time.[and still not heard anything about the change over yet, this must have been about three weeks ago now]

  • just had a thought, anyone know this person? if they have no electric they cant log on now. Hope they are ok this is not needed at this time of year.

    we had to call them up and they came out and put us some emergency credit on until they can come out and put a new key meter in..we will no doubt have to call them back out again as that wont last long,probably until wednesday if were careful.

    we just found out that we might be able to get some tokens from the main post office in town so we are going to see if we can get some from there so we will be ok for over christmas.

    thankyou for your concerns

    oh and the reasons they gave us for not turning up?
    people having babies,overbooked,raining and people in emergency situations..
