Had Microsoft powerpoint but now dont?

I purchased a dell pc and for the last year my daughter has used microsoft powerpoint for homework etc.
A couple of weeks ago I had a virus and dell advised me to restart the system and reset it back to factory settings.
Sincce then I have no powerpoint, dell wants to charge me £95 as they say I never had it? But we did?
Any help anyone?

If you have no installation media for MS Office/Powerpoint and no product key then you're probably not going to get it back.

If you didn't format the hard disk, there are free products that ~may~ recover your product key, so you are then just left with getting hold of the install disk if you don't have one.

But probably the easiest solution would be to download the OpenOffice free suite of software which will read PowerPoint files and write presentations to disk in a format that MS PowerPoint will read on other computers.
