heat marks help !!

Hi everyone,
can anyone help i have just brought a table which has a heat mark on it, it is made of wood but dont no which wood it as inlayed or looks inlayed, it also as a few scatchs on it but they dont look to be deep,i would like to give it some tlc but feel it needs to be stripped as it is over 25yrs old, Will i be able to get rid of the heat mark, need as much help as you can give me how to bring this table back to it orignal beauty.

I remember being told a few years ago, marks on wood can be helped with cigarette ash (yuk i know), make a thick paste with the ash and a little water, rub on and leave for a little while, then wipe off, never tried it myself, but might help.

I have heard of using white toothpaste on wood to get rid of marks - i have never done it but might be worth a try.0

It really depends on whether or not the heat mark is just in the varnish or has reached the wood.
Both the above tips might help with light marks, otherwise, it would be a strip and re-varnish as you've said.

all you good people out there, There dont seem to be any white mark its taken some of the shine off and feels a little rough!!! Any solutions for This problem, Please.

It sounds like you might have taken some of the varnish off, which is a shame, you could try one of the methods above, but it does look like you might have to sand and re varnish, sorry i cant help more
