Eon increase in D/D

I received my bank statement today and e on have increased my D/D from £79 to £97 per month they didnt bother to inform me either and I'm in credit on my account by about £200 can they do this?:mad: I dont use that much gas and electric my next winter bill will probably be about £220 and I'm having a wood burner installed so will be cheaper still

    Are you sure that they did not inform you in small print on the last invoice? Do your own calculations and tell them what the DD needs to be, always works for me.

    Are you on a fixed price tariff? If not, the increase is probably calculated to cover recent price hikes.

    Contact E-on to ask how & when they supplied the Advance Notice they are obligated to provide under the rules of the Direct Debit Scheme.

    If they have failed to provide such Advance Notice, you can get an immediate refund under the terms of the DD Guarantee - contact your bank to arrange this.

    You should probably still be in credit at this time of the year to allow for the heavy expected usage this month & next. Unless you have informed the supplier of the change in expected usage due to alternative heating you have installed, how are they supposed to know?

    Brill thanks folks they did not inform me have checked the last bill and nothing and yes I did inform them that I am having a wood burner installed and that it will be up and heating by Christmas.
