Laptop purchase advice please

I'm still looking for a suitable laptop for my daughter, going to uni next year for 6years study to be a vet so its going to be a tool used for her studies as well as other things. I'm no techie, just getting by with what I know so I dont want to waste my money making a wrong decision as finances like many is limited.
