Hi
Can anyone recommend a good electrician to do rewiring work on my house, preferably someone who has done a good job in the past and is reliable.
Current quote £1750 for 2 bed semi basic rewire. Don't know if that is good or bad.
Thanks

Hi
I had problems getting an electrician in the Manchester area a few months ago to fit a new consumer unit. I gave up in the end after no shows and people not interested in working. Good luck in finding one, if you do and they are OK, please pass their details on to me.0 -
mate of mine has recently started his own business. Did electronics at college and worked with his dad for a few years before his dad died and then he knocked it on the head till recently.
He lives in Radcliffe and has just done a rewiring job. PM me if you want his details.0 -
Try looking on the Guild of Master Craftsmen web site https://www.findacraftsman.com

I would check with the quote what consumer unit he is using (see the Wylex thread)
As said before use a registered electrician- make sure you check the company details and call the electriican on the number on the list in the first instance (that way you get no pretenders)
You should use a competent person for the work, links below
