Hi Nic25
Sounds like your doing really well - I think the hardest part is not forgetting what you've started (ie getting into the MSE habit). I usually do a spending diary for a few days and then forget about it but so far I'm doing pretty good!
Not sure if anybody has mentioned it but your credit card that is on interest free - it has 6 months left yeah?
From what I understood - you should pay your most expensive debts off first so with this being 0% you should just pay minimums and throw your other cash at the other card- then once that is paid off throw all your money at the next most expensive, etc etc. Am I right guys? Or have I misunderstood everything I learnt at orientation lol!
It may be that when the 0% deal is up at the current card you could move it to a better deal (whilst of course cutting up and closing the account of the other).
Anyhoo that's me for now - I hope the above helps - if not just disregard lol!Proud to be dealing with my debts!DFW Nerd No. 634 LBM: 3rd time - Dec2008 I NEED TO BEAT IT THIS TIME!Total Loan Debt = £[strike]13,737.80[/strike] 13,042.44, Total Non-loan Debt = £[strike]5,289.33[/strike] 4,704.45 - Total= [strike]19,027.13[/strike] 17,746.89 FEB 09Freelance earnings - Feb 09 = £260 so far Make £30 a day in Feb - £260.40 of £840 5 NSD in Feb 09 - 1 of 50 -

Thanks for the nice comments guys!! :grouphug:
IWantToBreakFree - I think you might be right about the CC - it does make sense to pay off the higher interest card first, I was just panicking about that one most since it's the highest!!
I have a question though - I'm sure only part of my balance (the larger part!) on CC1 is interest free - does this get paid off first so that I'm paying more interest on the part that isn't? I'm not really sure how that works....
I don't think I'll be able to move the balance to another card though - I tried that before with CC2 and couldn't get oneLBM - 1/12/08 - Debt £13250

Back again
Overslept a lot today - had big plans for getting lots of things done today, gonna have a busy afternoon now!
Back to work tomorrow, although I have train fares to pay to get there, I don't always get 'caught' on the train, and if not, I generally have a NSD at work - it's so much easier not to spend any money when you're stuck in one building all day!
Still planning on getting lots done today (have a big list on small things thread) and also have my whole house to tidy!
Off to sign up for a few mre freebies today too - think I might be addicted! Though, I had applied for a free sample of dog treats, which arrived yesterday while we were out shopping, and we returned to find that our lil dog had decided not to wait til we came back, and had opened the parcel and ate all the treats!! Think she'll have a sore tummy today lol!
Going to go and make a start on my list now, will be back on soon with my running totals, and hopefully a NSD today!!LBM - 1/12/08 - Debt £13250

Looooong day today....
Back at work, couldn't believe how busy it was! Took lunch with me, but ended up so busy I missed my lunch break!! So just brought it home to use as tomorrow's lunch!
Didn't spend too much today, was £1.40 fare to work (only paid for half my journey!) and £1.00ish for a bottle of juice to get me through the day! Went to class at night which cost £2.70 in fares and £4.50 once I was there.
However, I had a lovely little £30 bonus waiting for me in work, left over from the Xmas night out, and received £10 owed to me at class too - so add that on to my wages for the day and I'm well up!!
Day off tomorrow, got soooo much to do, I'm actually going to make a list for myself just now so hopefully I'll stick to it:- 2 loads of washing, dry on airers
- washing up
- HUGE pile of ironing
- up to parents house to sort out parcels etc
- bank to move money into various accounts (payday today! :rotfl: )
- pick up last minute bits and bobs for pressies
- post Xmas cards
- aim to get remaining £2.50 on STP for my voucher so I can start earning real money
- surveys/daily scratch
- list 10 items on Ebay for 10 days to finish after Xmas
- attack mess in bedroom, which looks like a bomb's hit it with all the Xmas pressies being stored in there!

Been very lazy today
Sat about on the laptop, made a couple of phone calls, and before I knew it, I was late for class!! Luckily got a message to say that it was cancelled due to the bad weather so didn't have to rush about.... and.... managed a NSD so far today!! I think that's my first time ever lol!! Now just have to resist the urge for a Dominos for dinner.....
Got a freebie sample of Hugo Boss for OH in the pst today, told him to keep it for a going out night though!! I'm loving all the free samples - it's lovely to get a little surprise through the door, especially when it's not cost me anything!!
Been messing about on STP this afternoon, aparently they've made some changes on it which seem to be making it much harder to make any money... but I'll keep pushing on at it- every little helps I guess!!
Off to hunt the cupboard for something nicer than Dominos for tea.... back later hopefully!!LBM - 1/12/08 - Debt £13250

The odd lazy day doesn't hurt - it is almost Christmas after all
I have now given up on stp, as the music I've been subjected too of late is painfully bad!
I'd rather cut back on the few luxuries I allow myself to save more than listen to one more song about 'asses' and bitc***' <<-- censored by me to protect young eyesI did try setting my preferences, but they seem to get ignored a lot of the time.

How it usually works is the lowest interest rate gets paid off first. So for example you do a balance transfer at 0% then spend on it at 17% all your payments get paid to the 0% balance while the purchase at 17% festers at the bottom of the pile multiplying like a rabbit on viagra! (Can you tell this has happened to me!)
It may well be the case that when you look at what rate the 0% will change to , your priorities change. Hope this helps!LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0
