I am veering towards thinking I might pay just the estimate now and pay the extra next time when the heating bill should be lower - I have been getting people to cut down as discussed above.
That's a reasonable idea but if the bill is high next time they may think it's not worth the bother of cutting down. If you get them to pay the correct amount now you may give them a jolt as to just how much electricity is being used, which will then give them an incentive to cut down.0 -
We are not massively careful about electricity (my PC and laptop are on almost 24/7 and the others have their own stuff but we have lots of energy saving bulbs etc.
You might find that you will start being massively careful at this rate when the next bill comes in.
Turn them off at once
