So, the next step for me is to see if they still have a copy of the original credit agreement - without it they can't actually enforce anything!
Depending on how long you've held the account, you may find that Egg have it stored rather conveniently in your secure area.

Might save you the cost of a stamp (and the £1 fee). ;)

It's the original, but they'll have a record of sending you notices of variation to your registered e-mail address.

To those expressing utter surprise at the direct debit being #50 more than expected... Don't you check your online statements shortly after the statement date to check how much will be debited, and 'complain' before it's taken?

  • OMG!! I definately did not get anything from Egg informing me of a change in the minimum payment. In my case my payment has increased by £100pm. I was away on holiday when my statement came in by e mail (I got that!), so missed checking it. I unwittingly paid in the usual amount to cover the DD and then was shocked when I checked with my online bank today to see that my DD has been rejected as there wasn't sufficient funds in there to cover it.
I am obviouously not the only one who didn't receive any notification about this change. I am so angry I can hardly type!!!!!

    What are you confused about?

You said you couldn't find where the minimum payment is stated, I showed a screenshot with the minimum payment highlighted with a red ellipse.
