Garage trying it on???

I recently had my car broken into and unfortunately the damage to the car would have cost me so much that i had to claim on my insurance to get it repaired.
The company i am insured with were very helpful and someone was out to collect my car and drop off my new courtesy car in exchange within a matter of hours. I was at work so My boyfriends dad signed for the car. It was wet and e didnt notice anything after walking around the car.
Since then I had the car a week and 3 days.
When the man came to collect the car on a saturday he pointed out a small scratch on the bumper which was hardly noticeable. It certainly wasnt me that had done this damage.
He got my boyfriend to sign for the car he didnt give us a copy of the paperwork and drove the car the 45 minute journey back to the garage.
Today i have received a letter stating that they have had to repair the damage to the car and i have to pay £308.14.
I obviously dont have that kind of money or else i would have got my own car fixed without going to the insurance company.
Also they have sent a report with the letter that is 5 pages long but i only have page 1 & 5.
after interrogating what is written it states that the car was blue yet the one i had was silver.
the mileage on it is 53805 when i am the one who passed the 6000 mile mark in the 2008 yaris.
the build year is 05/06 and also it said that the road was unroadworthy.
If there is a small scrath on the bumper this surely doesnt deem the car un road worthy and if it does then the guy was hapy to drive it back to the garage.
can anybody please help me as i dont know where i stand.
Sorry its a bit long winded.
thanks in advance

Have they had you down as having driven a different car?
If it si a well known and nationwide company, I'd immediately write to them, failing that, write to the Chief Execs office. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0 -
they car reg that has been signed for and the car reg they are writing to me about are both correct, its just other small details that dont ring true such as the mileage, the colour, the fact that it is un rd worthy.
it isnt a nationwide company i dont think. i have never heard of them anyway but it is a ltd company. I dont think im allowed to mention their name on here though.hsbc o/d-[STRIKE]£1000[/STRIKE] £650

Well, you can mention them I belive, but I would write to them, detailing the differences and seeking further clarification. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0

Ask for a copy of the condition report when it was picked up which was not given to you, and the evidence that the car was damaged by you. They would need to take you to small claims to get the money back, and they probably wont bother if you refute it strongly enough.
I would sent a letter to them saying just that.
Hire car firms try this on all the time. I got charged for a scratch that wasnt there by a big national firm, the b*stards even deducted it from my card as I had 'pre-authorised' the excess on my credit card.
I simply told them to provide the un-equivical evidence it was damaged by me, or return my money. I did mention that I consdered it 'fraud' if they could not substantiate it.0
