Does anyone know what Sky charge to move Sky tv to a new house ? Is it cheaper (and possible) to simply cancel in the old house and start again in the new house. Any advice appreciated.

They didn't charge me a thing!! Put up the new dish, all I had to do was bring the box with me and plug it all in.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0

Sky do a home movers service. See here. I think the cost was £60, may be different now. You leave your existing dish but take the box with you. Sky then put up a new dish (if required) and connect your box up
Probably no cheaper to start again and you would then be tied to a new 12 month contract. Additionally, you are not supposed to benefit from a further interactive discount, although many do manage to do this.0 -
I moved house inSept and have moved several times over the last few years each time taking Sky with me, I have only ever been charged £40 payable at the time that you book the installation.
But at my last move I did tell them that I had been a very lioyal cutomer and could they dismiss the charge as i have moved so many times and they did, goes to show if you don't ask you don't get!!Proud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -
If you threaten to cancel your subscription they will put a new dish up for you free of charge for being a "loyal customer"
... and you just take your existing box and card with you. I've just moved and Sky came to put my new dish up yesterday, and it didn't cost me a penny

They tried to charge me when I moved in 2002. But I said that I couldnt afford the charge and said I would have to cancel in that case. Then they said they would do it for nothing.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
