sofas- dfs help

Options
Hiya
Ive seen a sofa in dfs (cayo corner suite) that me and my partner would love to get. However it is quite expensive (£1495) and after reading all the bad reviews of DFS i'm not so sure i want to buy from them.
Can anyone help with regards to if they know of any good factory outlet stores in the north east?
Or if they know if dfs are likely to reduce there prices! ( cant believe this is the price of this one in the sale!)

I'm no fan of the 'sofa sheds', all seem to have the false price offers, to confuse the customer!!

    Have a look in http://www.homebase.co.uk
some verrrrry similar designs, there, at much lesss £$£$£.

Also, they do have 'sales' too, but slightly more genuine reductions!! Plus Spend n Save loyalty card, on 10% discount weekend will make it much cheaper!

We bought the York corner sofa, £900ish, ended up being around £600ish when on offer & buying at the right weekend!!

  • I wouldn't touch a DFS sofa if it was the last one available. I used to work part-time in a furniture store and heard so many bad stories about DFS sofas that no amount of discount would encourage me to step through their doors. One of the guys I worked with left to go and work for DFS and he became amazingly quiet when I asked him if the sofas were really stuffed with newspaper and cardboard!

We got a great leather sofa in Next half price ex-display. Look out for new stock coming in to stores as this usually means that old display items will be offered for sale at bargain prices.

M&S, John Lewis, Sofa Workshop or a good independent furniture store if you can find one. £500 per "seat" is a minimum budget if you want something well made and long lasting.

Yes, check to see if it has the ten year guarantee on the frame, any less they are very poor quality, mainly imported from China.

The " ten year warranty " ones are a bit better and made in the UK.

a leather sofa for 1500 quid is going to be crap by default.
if you want quality it will cost a heck of a lot more than £1500
