SAGA top 5 account

This instant access account has now been removed from the SAGA website and is no longer available to new savers. I called SAGA and was informed that it remains open for existing savers with the interest rate still (at present) 5.55%. A top earner so far.

It was supposedly paying 5.66% yesterday:

It's odd that the current rate doesn't seem to appear on the Saga website.Stompa0 -
Thanks stompa, the rate remains at 5.66 not 5.55. As I found, all reference to this account has been removed from their website.0

I had a bit of a shock over this too - seemingly the account having changed. I loged into my account to find it still showing as 5.66%. Hope it doesn't plummet too quickly - I only put some in there a week ago!
Also you can find the historical rates (and hence current for this account) by clicking the Historical Rates link in the Find out more: box to the right after you go to any of their available accounts.0 -

As it tracks the top 5 paying accounts on a monthly basis, expect a huge drop in the rate they pay when they recalculate the top 5 again next month

Thanks, that's quite well concealed - but at least it's there!Stompa0 -
Saga have pulled their tracker account from the market!0

Its a very good account, they have been consistently paying higher than the average because they recalculate end/start of the month. Glad I got one when I did a month or so back.
Also, saves having to keep moving your money around every few months as other accounts sink, it will always be in the top 5 tier of instant access accounts."How could I have been so mistaken as to trust the experts" - John F Kennedy 19620 -
It was pulled cease trading 10/12.

I have just logged into my account after seeing on this thread that it has been pulled. It is still paying 5.66%, but not for long I suspect.0
