Was at Woolworths today @ Yorkgate. Didnt buy very much. Apparently there are 50% of reductions! I could only see 10% and 20% reductions. A lot of the clothes had been picked over and there was only 20% off them. Bit of a wasted journey. Did anybody else go today and pick up a bargain?:o
oooooooh i luv a bargain

None of the WoolWorths sales over the past few weeks have been brilliant. It was mostly 10 and 20% off things. There was half a shelf with 50% reduced stuff, but it was a pathetic like, packs of playing cards etc.0

we got to the Basildon branch at 8.30 after hearing on the news about BIG reductions, by 8.45 there was a load of people behind us,
doors opened at 9, and we could hear hear the staff, talking among themselves saying this is mad, the prices are the same as yesterday!!
that had no idea i think what had been on the TV,
nothing else was further reduced, and everybody seemed to head to the games and DVD section, but the Que was still going all the way back to the back of the shop.
the staff were working really hard and had no idea if their jobs would be safe.
just feel a little let down after the news programs was saying this was the sale of the century.0 -
The small print on the posters is "up to 50% reductions" you only need one item reduced by 50% and you have filled the legal bit"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Went in and before long felt really disappointed, was expecting a bargin! Did stock up on loads of birthday/wedding/congratulation etc cards which were all 1/2 price.
Walked about for a bit n the more I did the more I felt bad about being disappointed, the staff we trying their best to be up beat but you could tell they were putting on a front. Spoke to a few who found out this morning on BBC breakfast what had happened!!
So all in all went in looking for a bargin and came out feeling bad for doing so!!:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0 -
I think we'll have to wait till after Christmas for really big reductions. I have read on other threads that some things have been scanning at less than the marked price, but you won't find out until you get to the checkout. I had a look in my local Woolies but didn't see anything especially worth buying.0

Queues were huge at my local one today, god knows what they were picking up as it was just all the rubbish stuff left - but when there is a sale on suddenly you just have to buy one!
