Hi guys,
Just looking in tesco at the Linksys wireless G gateway.I have broadband on my lappy and would like no wires.My laptop is wi fi compliant is this gateway thingy wht i need.Sorry if its a silly questionbut i reall have no idea.

What model number is it and is your broadband ADSL on a phone line or cable?

Yes it should meet all your requirements. Is it less than £50 otherwise there may be cheaper alternatives?

It's got a built in ADSL modem. Keep your S_Touch as a spare or flog it on Ebay.

If you buy this one, and I have, installed yesterday, I would recommend that you don't use the disc, just plug everything in, then go to http://192.168.1.1, type admin in password and config from there. I made a mistake of using the disc and it really screwed things up for me, I couldn't connect to website, so I had to reset router to default settings and then I could access website.
Unless of course it was just me being thick

Make sure you actually OWN the modem before you try and sell it though - quite often the modem remains the property of the ISP, they're just letting you use it.0
