    More information needed.
    Is it starting ok now?
    Windows XP or Vista?

If you've lost connection to router, unplug it for 30-60 secondsand restart

In Vista go into "Event Viewer" then "System"

Look at the date and time when the blue screen appeared and you will get an error report of what caused it.

thanks for your replies, the 'blue screen' message thing seems to have righted itself. I also lost all connections on broadband at the same time, dont know whether it was just a coincidence or not,
but after half an hour on the phone with Sky tonight using the yellow cable they have got both my laptops up and running again. Phew, i was a bit lost last night without it. Thanks again all
