I recently purchased a Panasonic TX28PM12 and after setting it all up I am not 100% happy. As this is the first Flat TV I have ever owned I would like to know if all these points are just due to the manufacturing and apply to all TV’s.
The first and most annoying is that when I turn the lights on in the room I get a funny reflection in the top right corner, like there are kinks in the screen. On closer inspection I can see that all the corners are pretty similar and it basically looks like the centre of the screen is slightly raised (so not really a flat screen) with horizontal and vertical margins tapered into the corners. None of this is noticed during daylight viewing.
The second point is that there are vertical shadows in the picture. Especially noticeable with single colour dark images.
I would really like to know if this is the norm for TV’s of this type or whether I have a faulty unit and would benefit from a replacement.
