...This is not my intention - rather it brings up a very valid point in that Debt Collection Agencies are, or appear to be, more willing to act reasonably, and within OFT guidelines, when dealing with organisations like CAB, NDL or CCCS.
Is this, perhaps, because they know that any deviation, from those guidelines, or unethical behaviour of any sort is more likely to be reported to the appropriate bodies, by one of the Debt Counselling Charities than by an individual debtor?
I think that's part of it, Rog.
But in general I just think that the dynamics of the creditor-debtor relationship is easier if you involve a third party, ideally one that knows what it's doing and doesn't charge a fee!
In this situation, the OP has engaged CCCS and so can quote OFT guidance and refer all DCA calls to them. The offers should be accepted and the calls should soon settle down.0
