S-video to SCART

I need a cable to connect the s-video out on a laptop/PC to the SCART in on an old panasonic CRT TV. I'm worried that the scart socket won't be s-video compatible, so need a cable that will avoid the problems of only recieving black and white into the TV. An audio connection would be nice as well, especially if it were a jack out. Ideally I'd like a single cable, as too many gender changers and adaptors get messy and have a habit of falling apart!
Any ideas?
Thanks.

The cable is not the issue, apart from getting one with the appropriate ends of course.
The AV input on your TV needs to be set to S Video via one of the TV's menus.
One of these may be of use

S-Video is as it describes the VIDEO signal only so you would need an audio cable as well ,a 3,5jack to RCA red/white to plug into the Switched Scart adapter as per the link above. I have used this procedure through a scart switching unit with success. Dave0

This should work. It's designed for the purpose you want it for.Depending on the age of your tv, SCART1 is usually set up for composite/RGB and SCART 2 is set up for composite/s-video.
You may have to experiment to find out which scart is s-video compatible.

Most laptops come with a S-video to composite video lead (and you should find them on eBay for pennies), you can then connect this either directly to the composite input on your TV (usually a yellow phono), or via a SCART lead with composite phono connections, however sound will be an issue as mentioned.above.
I have a general purpose SCART lead with ends in about 6 or 8 phono plugs, covering composite video and the L+R sound channels, most AV stores will stock these.0
