Hi
My daughter has her heart set on an acer aspire 5920 for xmas.
I really want to be able to get it for her but moneys tight just now so i was wondering if any of you kind people would know where i could get the best deal on it as ive scoured the internet but the best i can find is a refurbished one for £340 but i know it was available a week ago for £309.
second point id like to ask is what other options in the ultra cheap market is there based on the following spec of the one she really likes?(she wants to be able to use it for playing games)
thanks for all replies Rich
> Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 Processor
(2Ghz, 667MHz, 2MB Cache)
> Windows Vista Home Premium
> 3Gb Memory
> 160 Gb Hard Drive
> Graphics Card = Intel Graphics Media Accelerator
> DVD Super Multi dual layer drive

You could try pricing it on the Dell website, then ringing up the Dell sales line and try to barter with them.
If the 1st sales person won't budge, ring them back. I always email the same person now and always get computers cheaper than the website price. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0 -

Depends on the type of games but this graphics device uses the system memory and can struggle with the most recent games. Generally when it comes to games it is recommended to have a graphics card with it's own memory.0 -
Does your daughter currently have a mobile phone contract?
If so would another option be to switch to a mobile broadband contract which included a laptop?
For example: Carphone Warehouse offering T-Mobile unlimited mobile broadband + 200 texts together with an Acer Aspire 6930 for £40 /month (24 month contract)
Buy through quidco and get £60 cashback (24 x £40 - £60 = £900)
Computer valued at approx £520 (£900 - £520 = £380)
This makes the cost of the mobile phone £380 / 24 months = £ 15.83 / month) + calls (not sure what tarriff these are on worth checking with the store).
And you don't have to find £350 up front if money is tight currently.
This only makes sense though if you are already paying for a mobile contract.Keep smiling,
