As moonrakerz points out, it has an on/off switch, which is essential if you are going to run it occasionally and without the fan.
Believe me, you would not want to run this thing with the fan going for any length of time unless you're deaf!
I just use mine as an external backup (it came out of my PC anyway ), my fan is just about silent though !0 -
I don't really have the first clue of how to put one together myself and I'd rather get one with a decent warranty since I don't have much electrical luck.
How's this one look? Seems new but a fairly good deal. I've since been told that Firewire is replacing USB quicker than I thought and since I'll be replacing my laptop in the next 18 months, it's worthwhile as it'll most likely have it.

I use the computer for gaming and it runs better when the computer has less on it.
