If I gave my partner a secondary (supplementary) card from my Amex account does that mean he will have a credit search? And if his credit history is not too good will he be denied a card, even if it's on my account and my liability?
If none of those, is a secondary card likely to improve ones credit rating?

An additional cardholder is not credit searched as the debt will still be in your name and it will not improve his credit rating.0
