Anyone got any ideas on how much this could cost to fix? I think the bearings might have went. I was thinking i might be just as well getting another washing machine-does anyone know where to get the cheapest? Saw some Beko ones for £170 from Currys including delivery

Check the drum bearings by moving the drum around by hand. If they have gone the roughness of the worn bearings will be pretty obvious. Nowdays it probably isn't worth paying someone to replace the drum bearings as I guess this would cost at least £150. A decent new machine can be bought for around £200 as you have found out. Don't know how good Beko are but the price you quoted sounds exceptionally cheap for a new machine, presumably with a decent guarantee.
I would personally replace the bearings myself if the machine were in good condition otherwise but even buying the bearings alone is likely to cost £25 - £60.

I had a similar problem, I thought the bearings had gone in my machine. With a little bit of investigating, I discovered it was a bra wire. I managed to remove it and now runs a like normal.(".)0
