I've had the Braun one with the whisk and mini pot blender for about 12 months now and I think it's great. Quick and easy to use and also easy to clean.
Mind you if I hadn't got it I might be tempted to try the Tesco Value one after friends recommendations and reading the good comments about it on here0 -
There's another thread on stick blenders written only a short time before Math's blender hit the garden wall...

Does the Tesco one have dishwasher-friendly "bits"?
As Jay-Jay mentioned, we were talking about these on another thread earlier and I'm going to see if my mini chopper thingy (when I get it out of the box) chops things finely enough to be classed as "almost blended". If not I'm going to buy a stick blender, but being the lazy so-and-so that I am, a dishwasher-friendly one would be great!!!0 -

I have a Braun Stick blender with the little lidded pot type thing for chopping and pureeing. It was bought for making baby food around 6 yrs ago and I find it really handy for purreing onions, garlic, soups, making yorkie pud batter, making pate etc. I use the chopping pot thingy as much as the stick part.
The bits can all be put in the dishwasher and the handle gets thrown in the utensil drawer. The blades are still sharp and it still works perfectly. I bought a friend of mine one as a wedding present 13 years ago and she still has it. I wouldn't be without mine now.
I'm not sure what the difference is between branded and unbranded ones though, maybe somoeone else will answer that.
Hi Jay-Jay!
Was just wondering if you know (or can find out) the model number of your stick blender as I'd like to look at the details of it on the internet if I can find it.
I'm liking the dishwasher-friendliness of it!!!
Thank you

I have the Tesco Value one and can confirm it is dishwasher-friendly. Don't know if it says this on the box because I put everything in the dishwasher whether it says you can or not! It's brilliant, can't imagine paying any more for one.0

I brought a crown blender from Morrisons for just over a fiver. Very good with soup and pasta sauce.0
