Word Help

Apologies if there is a blindingly simple answer to this.

I sent a Word document to someone else for proof reading. They returned it with revisions and in the 'Final Showing MarkUp' mode. This shows all the revisions, comments etc.

I now need to send this document onto the final recipient. I need it be with no MarkUps, editing etc. I just need it to be the 'plain vanilla' final document.

I have tried saving it in 'Final' format and protecting it as read only. However when I close then re-open it,it comes back with all of the MarkUps!!!

I also would like the end recipient not to be able to track the document revisions.

Hi Shopbot, I have not used the markup facility but just had a quick look through the Word help via the office assistant and it looks like it covers all the points you raise. Have you tried it? Sorry to point to the obvious but it looks promising!

Go into Tools, track changes then highlight changes. then take the check out of the first box then ok.

Hi Windym. Thanks, I was trying to follow Office help but was going round in circles!!!

The problem was that the sheet was protected so I was able to do some of the actions but not others.

Sometimes Word has almost too many features!
