line speed reduced

Up until a few weeks ago the maximum speed for my phone line was supposed to be 5Mbps and I was getting around 2Mbps actual speed. My actual speeds have now dropped to below 1Mbps and when I checked my maximum possible line speed is now supposed to be 1.5Mbps. Is this something I should take up with my ISP or BT whose phone line it is? Or do I just have to accept this as part of BT's rubbish service?

  • Hi Blue len
I had the same problem too, however I called BT concerning it and they managed to bump my speed up back to 6Mbps, apparently they said the connection was unstable therefore they reduced the speed to stop it from crashing.
