Just requested money from Amazon so transferred it over immediately - that way when it hits my account it feels like extra money :)

And - I hadn't realised but it took me to £300 exactly! So I've hit my original target over 2 months early!

Well done Lilian - bumper day for me too, so I'm up to over 50% of my target :)

Just got paid and it's lower than usual for some reason (averaging?), so I don't think I'll have nearly as many clunks this month :(

Due to a slight misunderstanding - or, more correctly, bad information - my mortgage cost £1112 more than usual this month! There was enough money in the account to cover it, but annoying all the same.

What does this have to do with the virtual pot?
    1. I'm going to calculate the interest savings for the remainder of the challenge and funnel it into the pot. Since I always pay a flat fee on the mortgage each month to allow for ever-slightly-increasing overpayments, and I'm treating the mortgage as my virtual saving pot, this means I get to get twice the interest savings!
    2. I'm going to call the mortgage provider and go nuts on them...and offer absolution for a nominal contribution to my virtual pot :)
    Virtual sealed pot challenge #036 - 19/01/09-1/12/09 = £483.71/£750
