Supplement for Kirsch

I'll take a chance and post in here, and hope someone can answer before that Pinky lady sees it :p :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm having difficulty getting hold of Kirch (Cherry liqueur) I've tried MrS, MrT MrM and no stores have any, I only want a miniature size, I have no intention of paying around £8.00 I need this ingredient towards making a black forest gateau.

Any suggestions peeps?

  • Ooh I doubt you can get hold of that in minature size, to be honest.

i woudl imagine sherry (which I have seen in minatures) would do just as well, or for non-alcoholic just the equivalent amount of blackcurrant cordial, you know the really strong syrupy stuff?

We'll keep it just between the two of us then

Do you mean kirsch or cherry brandy  They're very different things - one is distilled, the other a liqueur :D

Well kirsch is a type of brandy made by distilling cherries; cherry brandy is a liqueur fortified by addition of brandy and sugar :D

Depending on the recipe, you could just leave it out ;)

I think they sell kirsch at Lidl / Aldi.
If you've got any left its lovely with some premium vanilla ice cream as a quick treat pudding
  • Hi, I find that the House of Fraser stores always used to do a good range on miniatures. I used them when I put a different miniature in some 'fill-your-own' crackers one year
