I joined on the 1st December to watch the Liverpool vs West Ham (which half of which couldn't be watched due to technical difficulties). When i first joined i wanted to be aware of ALL costs and and restrictions imposed as i only joined to watch that match. She had mentioned there is no minimum period and only 30 days notice would suffice. so therefore i would be charged £12.99 only (1 months viewing) she had agreed that was the case. I sent an email the next day and on the 8th dec to cancel and had no reply as of yet. I called up setanta and they stated that there is a minimum term period of 2 months and there is also a joining fee which i was shocked as i was not made aware of this. They couldnt do anything because its in the T&C and i had told him i didnt see them until 8th dec and when i first joined no one had told me about this restriction and additional joining fee. He also refused to pass me to his manager stating that "the manager dont speak to customers who have joined in the last 30 days" i was disgusted and felt that i couldnt pursue through this a phone call. what should i do? should i write a letter and what should i state. what law helps me in this situation as i have been given the wrong information in the beginning.

Hi - I sympathise with you as I have had problems viewing a few premiership matches this season on Setanta - do a search on this site as I think there are threads dealing with cancellation as a few people seem to have had problems - good luckKeep the Faith:cool:0

They were on Watchdog last week, thousands of complaints regarding Setanta it seems those affected are the Satellite subscribers, it turns out the dish is a little offline for the satellite
However, it was their Customer Service that was mentioned on the show, it seems they just reply with "were having technical difficulties".:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

There are a lot of things wrong with Setanta! We joined in June '07 just for the boxing as we do not watch golf or football!
We recently noticed that we have been paying £15.00 per month by DD since joining. We phoned to ask why they had not reduced the DD during the special offer & again in June '08 - an apology was given. We said we may have to cancel as £15 was overthetop for just boxing so was offered 3 months @ £6-50 beginning in Nov. Great? NOT!
Since then they have taken 2 more DD's at £15 each......Grrrrrrr
So, we have written to them, recorded delivery, to cancel. We will watch any boxing matches we want to see on here from now on!
Oh - BTW IF we want a refund we have to write, recorded, enclosing a copy of every month for which we were overcharged! Tell me if I am confused but when we phoned them they saw on their screen what was paid & when..............and knew what it should havebeen!0
