New tenant - Electric bill?
I am a new tenant (moved in 1st of Nov this year). I have so far received letters from the water suppliers, council tax and BT about sorting out the bills.
I haven't yet received anything from my electricity supplier though (no gas). I made a bit of a boo-boo in not taking a meter reading when I first moved in (I actually have no idea where the meter is), but I guess I can cross that bridge when I come to it.
Is it unusual for the electricity supplier not to contact me? I am on economy 10 according to the LL, and it would be nice to know what hours are the cheap ones!
I am thinking my best course of action will be to contact the electricity company myself.
FYI, my supplier is Southern Electric
Thanks for any info!

There's still more than one and a half months left until 31 January! And it's rather cold. I suggest you be a little more proactive in determining just how much you'll be paying for your heating (and the times you should be switching it on.)0

Yep - get in touch as soon as you can with the supplier if you want to avoid ending up with a hefty debt. The supplier can wait up til a year to contact you and then ask for a whole year's payment so I wouldn't rely on them being in any rush to contact you.0

You should always contact the current suppliers as soon as you move in to prevent any unexpected bills.
You've only been there for a month now, so you won't be hit with any high bills.
Call Southern Electric and ask them what your unit rates and standing charges are, and then search for cheaper ones0 -
Thanks guys, you pretty much confirmed what I thought... I'll ring them.0
