Best place to buy internal doors?

We're looking to buy 15 internal doors and fittings. We've looked around B&Q, Wickes, Homebase etc and searched online and haven't really been able to find anything we are happy with.
The online suppliers we found seemed very expensive and it is dificult to guage the quality from a picture.
We thought we'd be able to get a better deal through a trade place but when we asked the carpenters who came to quote for fitting them they just suggested Homebase or Magnet.
Does anyone know of a good supplier?
We're probably going to go for white six panelled doors but aren't keen on the moulded ones so would prefer proper wood. Homebase had some clear pine ones for £40 each which would do the job but we're not sure if we'd have the time (or space) to paint them all before they are fitted. I've always been told you should paint doors flat but can you still get a good finish when they are in place?

Where do you live? There are independent suppliers of doors and door sets but maybe not close enough for you to make a visit.
There is a good one in west London (Todd Doors) just off the A40 in Northolt. But as you have found few and far between generally. Good luck.0 -
We're not too far from there (East Berks) - will check them out, thanks!0

Try your local Recycling Centre.....mine has/had loads of doors , old ones outside, some with locks and keys, the new and good doors inside out of the weather. From S/H £2 to new £5.0

I hope you mean private sector Architectural Salvage Yard? It is illegal to sell anything deposited at a publicly operated/controlled Recycling Centre (CA Site etc) as technically once it is deposited it becomes Controlled Waste and you would need to be a registerd waste carrier or contractor to remove it as well as having to issue waste transfer notes and comply with the Duty of Care requirmenst, etc!!! If not you are committing an offence!! I know, sounds silly, but that is the way the law stands at the moment - See Environmental Protection Act 1990 s33 & 34.
Probably very little chance of enforcement occurring, but technically an offence is being committed.
And to get back on track, Todd Doors have a web site here0
