hey all, hoping you can help with my car's recent strange behaviour, its a 2002 fiat stilo with 39k on the clock
basically lately it has been taking longer and longer to start, always first time but anything up to 5 seconds of trying to start up (it has always been right there, now its taking ages, is that anything to worry about?)
also the on board computer has been behaving very oddly, various sensors claim there are faults on the car, airbags being a particular favourite, most recent one is the fuel gage going to the right level, then diving to empty, displaying 'fuel sensor fault' then going back to normal, checking the on-dash display (i know that only makes sense to stilo owners) shows no option for range to empty or inst mpg and average mpg refuses to display a figure.
has anyone any idea what is wrong with it?

A faulty temp sender can play havoc with the ECU and send all sorts of error messages to the dash. I'd suggest a quick call to Fiat, and they'll say "Yes, it's a common problem and will probably be X". It's what dealers do, despite common misconception they are helpful:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

Thay dont have to have it in stock or even fit it for you to ring them for advice. Half of my working day is helping guys with Mk1 or Mk2 Golfs try and diagnose electrical faults or over heating engines etc...very tricky over the phone, but it's what I get paid for and hopefully will get some custom from all my efforts somewhere along the line!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
