Miss P's Debt free Deadline.....

Afternoon all!
Whether its the time of year or what, I don't know. But it seems a lot of people are getting very reflective and gung ho about their debt. And I'm one of them.
Just undergone a review with the CCCS about my DMP and have upped my payments again. Going onto their site I love playing with the Debt Free Quicker Calculator. At the moment my Debt Free Date is :
Aug 2017 104 payments
All well and good you may say. Well, at that point I would be 44. I would just LOVE to be clear of all my debt by the time I am 40 so January's the start of the Big Push. My New Debt Free Deadline is :
July 2013.
That would give me 4 months until I turned 40 - enough to save to go away somewhere sunny and hot for my 40th!
Obviously I'm not going to get there just by paying my usual payments so I have a Cunning Plan (to quote Baldrick!)
* Ebay everything I possibly can and put ALL moneys raised towards my debts
* Payment a Day...obviously difficult to do on a DMP so will make a payment a day into my internet savings and make extra payment to DMP every quarter.
* Car Boots - will do these in the summer. Half will go into sealed pot and half to internet savings towards extra payments to DMP
Over the next couple of years my son will start school full time so will be able to do a few more hours at work then so my payments will go up anyway which can only help.
So thats it. The Great Plan. Lets hope it works!;) I just feel that concentrating on my Debt Free Date is more incentive to me than seeing the actual debt total go down!
Ok, thats my rambling done for now
Off to transfer a couple of pound to internet savings!!

That's what I'm hoping for with the diaries, that you have support and it keeps you on the straight and narrow, within reason. I've found I already feel more focused on getting on with it and strangely enthusiastic too - but that could be the hangover - darn! meant to say allergic reaction...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Well today I'm trying to keep busy. First morning I've had to myself all week so have made the most of it. Lots of washing etc done and I'm off to scrub the kitchen floor in a minute.
Actually, the kitchen floor thing reminds me. My mindset is definately changing. My mop broke the other day. I looked at them in Sainsbugs and was horrified at the prices! Instead I bought myself a floor cloth. Down onto my hands and knees it is! (Wonder if I'll give up and buy a mop
)
Tonight after work I will investigate the "Upping Your Income" board for ideas on how to raise extra cash. Need some inspiration.
Efforts made today towards bringing DFD closer:
* Paid some money off of Studio Catalogue
* Handful of change into Sealed pot
* Packed some old clothes of little ones away ready for car booting in the spring
I'm also on Alcohol Free Day 11. Each week I'm alcohol free I will put money in my sealed pot to reflect what I would have spent on wine etc. That should certainly mount up!!!!

Fantastic willpower on 11 alcohol free days, very impressive, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you open your pot.

I used to not drink. I didn't drink for about 4 months. I didn't miss it then but I know I would now. (not that I drink a lot, I'm more often than not the designated driver) So, well done you!
I really should clean my kitchen floor too... I've been saying to myself I'm going to do it for quite some time now. I wonder if I can find a floor scrubbing dot...
