Tesco online shopping help needed?

I have shopped online at Tesco's in the past but not very often. I am trying to feed a family of five on a budget of £50 per week. I have a couple of questions for you experts out there!

I don't seem to have earned any points from previous online shops, does anyone know why?

What are the best codes to use when shopping at Tesco. As I am trying to be a moneysaver the delivery charge put me off, but I am sure I have read about a code that discounts this!

What is the best way to grab the bargains.

Any help would be totally appreciated. I cannot believe how much I have saved just in the short time I have been on this site, and I cannot believe how much money I have wasted over the years!

    Hi Sammy,

There are 2 ways to use vouchers on Tesco's online. You can either use money off vouchers, usually £5 off a £50, £10 off a £75 etc which more than covers the delivery charge. The other alternative is to use extra points vouchers which are normally 500 extra points when you spend £50 etc. When converted to deals tokens 500 points is worth £20. It depends whether you want to save a bit now against the food bill or save a bit more, in say summertime, when you can exchange the deals tokens for family days out to loads of places. Last year I used our tesco vouchers for deals tokens to Colchester Zoo and Whipsnade Wildlife Park, saving around £100!!!! It would have been £25 off my food bill but I've saved more in going for deals tokens.

There is a dedicated tesco codes and vouchers thread, link below.

The users of this thread post all the codes they can find and I ALWAYS check here before ordering. Also, if you join one of the cashback sites they normally give around £2.50 cashback when you go through their site to order.

Hope this is of some help to you,
    Allison.

PS-Deliveryon a tues or wed is normally cheaper I think, weekends dearest.

Have you actually registered with Tesco you need to get their clubcard to actually get points?????

If you have ring their customer services or go to the customer services dept at your loacl store, do you still have the receipts, if so take them with you.

    Hi :)

I see you already have a couple of great answers here though the best place for your query would be where all the shopping fiend...er... experts hang out, so I'm going to move you across to Shop But Don't Drop :)

    Good luck.

Thanks all, I rang the club card people. I have 113 points *WOW*but for some reason it hasn't registered on the web. Just switched energy suppliers to Powergen who give you 1point for every £1 spent on energy.

Requested a club deals book, just need to do the shopping now!

    Thanks

I also am trying to feed a family of 5 on a budget and the best way is to use as many BOGOF or multisave offers as you can. They change regularly so the family don't ever get fed up! The best place to find a listing of all the offers is here: https://www.fixtureferrets.co.uk.

I dont always find this accurate, been caught out a few times. Its worth checking on this website and identifying the deals youd be intersted in and then cross checking it with Tescos website.
