AOL overcharge

Options
I pay AOL £24.99 per month (yes I know I really shouldn't be paying anything for internet provision!) This month they took £49.98 from my bank account, DOUBLE the amount due. It took me great effort to contact the right people but they admit there was an admin error and that many people have been affected. HOWEVER they will not refund me for 44 days - or I can have a free month next month. It seems to me that they have taken MY money along with many other people and are having a jolly good Christmas at OUR expense. How can I get my money back NOW? This seems completely wrong and unacceptable to me

    Hi,

If the ££ is via direct debit that this is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee - tell your bank the wrong amount was debited and they will refund within 48 hours or quicker.

AOL are classic for doing this - 'we have to wait for our next payment run to pay you..' Complete time wasters unfortunately.

I'd say you are actually better of having the free month as getting your ££ back doesnt save you anything really.
  • Thank you so much for your reply - never used this site before but was so frustrated by their attitude that I needed to get it off my chest! Will be changing my service provider in the New Year. Happy Christmas!:A
