Ashes - Internal flights available

If anyone is planning to travel independently for the Ashes Tests this winter-(I know the situation re ticket availability) Qantas are releasing the internal flights between Melbourne & Sydney. I have just booked to travel on 30 Dec once England have won the Melbourne game - the 31st Dec flight will be available from midnight tonight GM time. I have been booking the flights as soon as they are released as when checking I noticed a couple of times that the cheaper deals were sold out by the time I looked at 6am.

I am going to wait and see what the position is on tickets before I book flights. I refuse to buy them from touts outside the ground!0

Me too, and its not looking good for independent travellers. I was going to book the same flight as Kate but I don't fancy going out without tickets.

Kate, you've talked me into it. See you in Melbourne. Mine's a pint. Even if we don't get tickets for Sydney we're going to enjoy ourselves.

I am sure you are all aware of https://www.barmyarmy.com website, where there is a fair bit of discussion as to the best flight deals people have spotted on the forums (as well as ticket rumours).
I plan to do Bangladesh in 2007 - those I know who went to the two tests just before Sri Lanka a couple of winters back raved about the place, despite difficulty getting a beer anywhere. As much as I would love to go, I see Oz being too busy this time round, and outside my budget.
I dont see the MCG selling 500,000 tickets over 5 days somehow.

As I thought - I've checked this morning and only 3 flights left at the lowest price!0
