Looking for a brief bit of advice if any of you fine people can.
Im a small shareholder in a ltd company and im unable to make the AGM. Id like to send a letter of apology ahead to say I wont be in attendence.
What do I need to say?
Do I comment on anything from the accounts, like congratulations on the record profit?
Can I include a couple of questions I'd like raised at the AGM?
Thank you!

If you would like your apologies for absence recorded, probably worth saying so in your letter:
Dear ... I am sorry I cannot attend the AGM for your company on whatever-date-it-is (you can give the reason if you like but not essential, eg family commitment, longstanding arrangements) but please record my apologies for absence.
You can comment on the accounts if you like. I am not sure if they are obliged to include your questions if you raise them. If you really want answers, I'd ask them now and not in this context, IYSWIM.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
You may be able to send a proxy on your behalf, if you wished and if the company rules allowed it.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0

Cheers folks, arranged last night for a proxy to go but shall be sending my apologies anyway - and noting my dislike of the short notice of the AGM.0

As you may well be aware, from 1 October 2007 under Companies Act 2006 there is no requirement for a private limited company to hold a AGM unless the articles state they should. Notice is 14 clear days, though, and can be shorter if 90% of the shareholders agree.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0
