Options
I am a bit concerned, got new Dell Dimension 5150 tonight. I can see all the electrical bits and wires at the back of the computer. Is this the nor, please? My present tiny is covered and you cannot see any bits at all. Am also concerd about the amount of dust gathering there. It also seem rather noisy, I guess, I will have to get use to it. Also I do not seem to be able to use the numeracal number on the rt side of the keyboard, please help. Thanks.

    Yes that's normal.

You need to press the numlock key down, and a light will come on, on the keyboard, then the numbers should work.

It shouldn't be getting dusty already!

You need to suck out the dust from the fan at the back, every few months, with a vac, or blow it with an air blower.
    Vac is better.

Did it come with anti-virus and anti-spyware software installed? If not, take a look at the sticky threads regarding security and spyware software. Best to keep it safe from day one..

Also, backup your data every so often, to CD/DVD/USB key etc..

Yes, it did, I finally managed to uninstall Macfee and install my Pc-cillin as Macfee is only on 90 days trial. I was surprised to find out that Pc-cillin already found a virus which the av dealt with successfully. I will have a look at the links you posted to see whatelse I need to download. Thanks
