HSBC Plus or First Direct

HSBC have recently relaunched their Plus Account more in align with their existing offering from First Direct. What I wanted to know was people's opinion of either.

For me it has to be FD been with them for over 10 years and they have been brilliant.
Things like their customer service (2nd to none) and they're just seem more professional, friendly and polished imo. 24/7 phoneline, instant decisions, stupid things like left hand cheque books.
FD customers always seem to be targeted with better rates, offers and promotions while HSBC seem to always play catchup if they even get offered the same rates/deal.
While HSBC own FD it's FD that leads they way in every department.0
