I bought three tickets off ebay to see Tina Turner next march, intending to give 2 as Christmas presents and keep one for myself. The seller had 3800 positive feedback. I paid using my credit card through Paypal. This was in the beginning of October- I started Christmas shopping early (I'm in debt and it seemed sensible!).
However, early in November I got an email from the seller saying that their Ebay account had been suspended as a precaution while a review is carried out. It did say that they weren't accusing the seller of dishonest behaviour. I wouldn't have known anything about this if the seller hadn't of contacted me (I would've waited until February when I thought the tickets would be sent to me), letting me know that there's only a 45 day window from the transaction date in which to register a dispute.
I registered a dispute and emailed the seller thanking them for letting me know about the situation. I have since received a letter and email from the seller stating that they have come accross some websites all bashing paypal and saying that they can freeze accounts indefinately! The seller has suggested that I (and all other buyers in the same boat) try to get our money back by whatever means possible.
I have complained to Paypal (no response yet) and my credit card company (sending out forms to me) but it looks like it could be a long time before I see my money back.
I emailed the seller asking if I could buy the tickets using another method of payment. I'm waiting on the reply. So I'm stuck £££'s down, two Christmas presents short 15 days before Christmas. I've tried looking for more tickets but can't find anything I can afford. I feel like crying!!
Any suggestions?

Hmmmm
It sounds like the seller has some sort of scam going on, he probably will get all the cash, not supply the goods and it will be paypal/a bank who end up out of pocket.
You purchased from the seller and have sent money, their issues with paypal are irrelevent.
State to the seller that they must fulfil the contract otherwise you will take all legal methods to recover your money from them.
The freezing of the account is between the seller and ebay.0 -
I'd say it was possibly a scam too. I'd NEVER buy tickets on ebay, unless it was less than 45 days to the event, so enough time to open up a dispute if they don't arrive.
Open up an "item not received" claim or something.
You should remember that at Christmas, it's the thought that counts, so if you're in debt, it's unwise to go splashing cash on expensive concert tickets. I'm sure these people would be equally as happy with some home made chocolate truffles.
When broke, you should spend time on people, not money, as anyone can spend money! Spending time on someone is more considerate.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

I am 14 days off getting my Christmas presents!0 -
Get your moeny back. Go elsewhere!
If paypal don't refund you. They should if you've raised a dispute and there's non-delivery, then your CC company can issue a chargeback.
If the tickets are not sent out until February, then you need to avoid Ebay, as all of your rights will have expired by then.0
