I've got a netgear mp101 and am trying to connect to pc via a belkin F5D7230uk4. The router is not connected to the net as I am not yet on cable, it is just acting as a wireless access point at the mo.
I have set up the router and installed the mp101 software, booted it up, found the router, set the ssid, the 128bit wep encryption, but it can't find the server software. I managed to ping the mp101, but then I had to change the setup from infrastructure to ad-hoc. I now can't get it to connect to the router or ping the mp101. The mp101 wants an ip address (and subnet mask) - I assume of the router, but I don't know what to enter.
Any help please - and I thought I was doing really well... until about 2 hours ago.

Do you have your mp 101 connected to the router with an ethernet cable to set it up?
If yes, I would suggest putting your router back into infrastructure mode, then do a factory rest on the mp 101 and start again.
The usually default is set to Obtain IP Address Automatically which it should do if DHCP is enabled in the router.
Once you have everything working correctly with a hard connection, then set-up your wireless connection unencrypted.
Check that works and then set the encryption, first on the mp 101 and then on the router.
Check that works then follow on for SSID Disable and MAC filtering. At each stage check you still have connectivity.

Still having big problems - can't even connect via the ethernet cable. The mp101 cannot find an IP address. The icon in the task bar has an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle and says it has limited or no connectivity. I have clicked on the icon to repair the IP address but it failed. What's going on???
The ethernet port works fine, the mp101 recognises that there is a cable connected and the yellow light is on at the back but when you go into network setup, there is no option for a wired network and I cannot get it find a server.0
