    good news is...the cheap PSU is probably ok.

    bad news...er...mobo looking like the culprit, failed RAM would/should lead to post beeps. If the CPU had failed..I'd expect (I had to google) 5 beeps for an AMI BIOS, award + phoenix don't list any, so silence may be normal.. Now is the time I am grateful for other, compatable PCs around to aid diagnosis, in your case it may involve sepending money and hoping...sorry :(

    Try Ebuyer, Aria, or Microdirect, but put a better PSU in there. As the Dell board also has onboard graphics you can either find one also with onboard graphics or if you want to play games invest £90 or so on a graphics card. At the end of the day it may be better to buy a new PC or the bits to build one.

    To be honest Rob, its just a PC for the kids (3 and 8) so the spec it was is fine.

    Can you recommend some for me please, I don't have a clue what I'm going for with motherboards.
